Take the UK’s leading frozen ready meals company. Add a dash of seasoned design professionalism. Mix with lashings of strategic insight. The result: a mouth-watering creative partnership that’s left Wiltshire Farm Foods’ customers wanting more.
Established over 15 years ago, Wiltshire Farm Foods has taken the frozen ready meals market by storm. With a network of around sixty franchisees, the company is now the 79th biggest UK retail brand, serving the burgeoning over-70s market with a tasty selection of meals. However, as Kate Holden, Wiltshire Farm Foods’ marketing manager explained, the company wanted design professionals who could help reinvigorate their increasingly stale business-to-business marketing materials.
“We needed to bring our franchisee advertising in line with our newly developed brand to reflect a caring, more inclusive approach,” said Kate. “Coming from Australia, I didn’t have a network of design suppliers, so a member of our team recommended Sam Lacey. She nailed the brief straight away. For someone to capture our messages so accurately and quickly was remarkable.”
With this starter project complete, Sam’s next task was to help launch Wiltshire Farm Foods’ customer newsletter. Once again, the work went down a treat. “I loved it immediately. The proof of its success was in the response: we received many letters from our customers telling us how much they enjoyed the newsletter.”
For Kate, it’s Gravity’s blend of approachability and expertise that keeps Wiltshire Farm Foods coming back for more: “In the past, I’ve had to handhold agencies and almost design things myself. But thanks to Sam’s design expertise and strategic input, I can trust her to deliver the goods again and again. She’s not only extremely friendly and personable; she’s a consummate professional who always gets the job done. I’m in no doubt Gravity is the right company to help take our brand further.”
Clients often ask us why agencies send them printer proofs to sign, even though they’ve approved the PDFs. Sometimes, it feels like another laborious part of the process. But it’s an essential one.
At the dawn of a new year, it’s natural to want to embrace mankind's myriad of technological enhancements. So why do I find myself back at my desk (yep, too cold for gardening) wondering why so many of the everyday things we rely on are just rubbish?
