Paintworks is Bristol’s newest creative district, developed from the derelict remains of a former paint factory. These neglected industrial buildings have been regenerated to become a thriving and stimulating new community.
For many, it’s Bristol’s Creative Quarter: an environment where people can exchange ideas and share inspiration. For Gravity it’s an opportunity to be a part of an exciting new way of working. As some famous bloke somewhere once said, there can be “no output without input.” So it made sense for us to be in amongst it.
Many agencies are insular and work in isolation. Gravity is different. We broadened our horizons, made our move to Paintworks, and let creativity in. One day, we’ll exchange ideas with a photographer. The next, we’ll visit an exhibition space and find fresh insights, discover new shapes and inspiring textures. Or we might go to a gallery that makes us consider colours we’d never even thought of. At Paintworks, we’re right at the heart of things not just inspired by our own four walls, but exchanging and pulling ideas from the creative minds that surround us. Exciting times…
Clients often ask us why agencies send them printer proofs to sign, even though they’ve approved the PDFs. Sometimes, it feels like another laborious part of the process. But it’s an essential one.
At the dawn of a new year, it’s natural to want to embrace mankind's myriad of technological enhancements. So why do I find myself back at my desk (yep, too cold for gardening) wondering why so many of the everyday things we rely on are just rubbish?
